RAMS Software for Supply and Install Businesses
Evalu-8 EHS brings your risk assessments, method statements, site information, drawings, approvals, revisions and installer acknowledgements into one connected system.

You are in good company. Trusted by H&S teams from companies like
Every installation RAMS, under your control

Turn the project handover into a clear RAMS
Bring the quotation, survey, specification, drawings and customer information into one structured process.
- Record the customer, site, supplied equipment and people involved.
- Build hazards, controls, PPE, equipment and work sequence together.
- Attach surveys, plans, photographs and installation instructions.

Make recurring installations faster without making the RAMS generic
Reuse the controlled parts of repeat work while requiring every author to consider the product, site, access and people affected by the individual job.
- Create approved structures for common installation types.
- Reuse controlled hazards, precautions and method sections.
- Apply one standard across branches, managers and field teams.

Adapt every RAMS to the site in front of you
Reflect the delivery route, occupied areas, work location, services, access restrictions and other contractors that can change the method.
- Capture live site conditions and access constraints.
- Adjust hazards and controls to the working environment.
- Keep survey photographs, plans and instructions with the RAMS.

Plan the whole journey from delivery to handover
Explain how equipment will be unloaded, moved, positioned, fixed, connected, tested and handed over.
- Plan delivery, unloading, access and movement.
- Set out assembly, fixing and connection logically.
- Include commissioning, snagging and customer handover.

Put the current approved RAMS in the team’s hands
Give installers access at the point of work instead of relying on printed packs, old downloads or attachments saved in individual inboxes.
- Open the approved RAMS from a phone or tablet.
- Keep drawings and instructions beside the document.
- Direct the team towards the current version.
Create HVAC RAMS
Turn the project handover into a clear risk assessment and method statement
The information needed to plan an installation often already exists. The problem is that it is divided between the quotation, survey notes, specification, drawings and customer emails.
Evalu-8 gives project and safety teams one structured process for turning that information into RAMS that the reviewer and installation team can follow.
- Record the customer, site, supplied equipment, work area and people involved.
- Build the hazards, controls, PPE, equipment and work sequence in one workflow.
- Attach surveys, plans, photographs, specifications and installation instructions.

Resolve changes before work begins
Make recurring installations faster without treating every project as identical
A contractor may fit the same racking system, air-conditioning unit, door, machine or commercial product across dozens of customer sites.
The underlying method may be repeatable, but the delivery route, building layout, service connections and people affected can change every time.
- Create approved structures for your most common installation types.
- Reuse controlled hazards, precautions and method sections where appropriate.
- Apply one documentation standard across project managers, branches and teams.

Prove the right people received the RAMS
Put the actual site back into every installation RAMS
A RAMS should reflect more than the product being fitted. It needs to consider how the equipment reaches the work area, what surrounds the installation point and whether the customer remains operational.
- Record occupied areas, access restrictions, public interfaces and nearby contractors.
- Add delivery, unloading, internal movement and temporary-storage arrangements.
- Consider services, isolations, work at height, fixings and emergency procedures.

RAMS that support the full installation journey
Create site-specific
installation RAMS
Start from an approved method, then build around the actual customer, supplied equipment, location and installation scope.
Plan the full supply and
install journey
Control the risks that sit between delivery and handover, including unloading, internal movement, occupied areas, testing and commissioning.
Control changes and
workforce communication
Keep revisions, approvals and acknowledgements connected when the programme, access, equipment or work method changes.
See how supply and install RAMS work in Evalu-8 EHS
Follow one installation from project handover and site-specific planning through to approval, issue, acknowledgement and controlled change.
Explain how the whole installation will happen, not only how the product is fixed
The work starts before the installer reaches the final fixing point. Delivery, internal movement, positioning, service preparation and customer handover all form part of the live method.
- Plan delivery, unloading, access and movement into the work area.
- Set out positioning, assembly, fixing and connection in a logical order.
- Include testing, commissioning, snagging, waste removal and handover.

Built for supply and install environments
Use one controlled RAMS process across very different products, sites and customer requirements.
HVAC and mechanical plant
Plan delivery, lifting, isolation, rooftop access, hot work, commissioning and occupied-building controls.
Machinery and production equipment
Coordinate unloading, positioning, assembly, guarding, connection and controlled handover inside live factories.
Racking and storage systems
Manage vehicle movement, temporary storage, work at height, drilling, anchoring and the customer’s live warehouse.
Glazing, doors and architectural products
Control heavy or fragile materials, temporary openings, public access, lifting and final protection.
Fire, security and electrical systems
Plan work in ceilings, risers and restricted areas, including isolation, drilling, dust, testing and existing systems.
Multi-site rollout programmes
Keep a controlled core method while adding the site-specific access, occupants, layout and restrictions for each location.
Put the current RAMS where the job is happening
Put the current RAMS in the hands of the installation team
A document stored in the project manager’s folder does not help an installer standing in a loading bay, plant room or customer work area.
- Give installers quick access to the approved document at the point of work.
- Keep drawings, plans and instructions beside the applicable RAMS
- Reduce dependence on printed copies and old attachments saved in inboxes.

Connect the information from site survey to handover
The RAMS should carry useful information forward rather than forcing the planning process to begin again.
-
Site survey
Record access, dimensions, services and assumptions.
-
Project handover
Confirm what was sold, excluded and prepared by the customer.
-
RAMS preparation
Build the assessment, controls and installation method.
-
Pre-start check
Confirm the approved method still reflects the live site.
-
Installation
Escalate and review material changes before continuing.
-
Handover
Leave the system, work area and records ready for acceptance.
What is RAMS software for supply and install businesses?
RAMS software helps contractors create, approve, issue and maintain job-specific risk assessments and method statements for work completed at customer sites.
It brings the site, product, people, hazards, controls and installation sequence into one structured document. Supporting plans, photographs and instructions remain connected to the RAMS, while version histories and acknowledgements show which document was issued and who received it.
How RAMS sit alongside other key installation records
Site survey
Captures existing conditions, constraints and access.
Informs the RAMS.Product instructions
Explains how the supplied equipment should be installed.
Supports the method.Lifting plan
Details the load, equipment, people and lifting operation.
Referenced in the RAMS.COSHH assessment
Covers hazardous substances used or generated during work.
Supports safe working.Permit to work
Authorises specific higher-risk activities at the customer site.
Controls the live activity. What UK law expects from supply and install RAMS
UK health and safety law does not require supply and install
businesses to produce a document called a RAMS for every job. It
does require employers and contractors to assess risks, introduce
suitable controls and communicate safe working arrangements to the
people carrying out, supervising or affected by the work.
For delivery, unloading, positioning, installation, testing and
handover, the RAMS should reflect the product being supplied, the
customer site, the access route, the equipment being used and the
conditions surrounding the installation.
- MHSWR 1999 Requires suitable and sufficient risk assessments, appropriate controls and reviews when the scope, work method or site conditions change.
- CDM Regulations 2015 May apply where installation, replacement or refurbishment forms part of construction work. Contractors must plan, manage and monitor their work and consider anyone who may be affected.
- Work at Height Regulations 2005 Applies where installation teams use ladders, towers, scaffolds, roof access, platforms or other equipment where a fall could cause injury. The work must be properly planned, supervised and completed by competent people.
- PUWER and LOLER 1998 Apply to work equipment and lifting equipment used for unloading, moving and positioning products. Equipment must be suitable, and lifting operations must be properly planned, supervised and carried out safely.
- Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 Require hazardous manual handling to be avoided where reasonably practicable, assessed where it cannot be avoided and reduced through suitable equipment, planning and controls.
Questions supply and install businesses ask before replacing Word and PDFs
Can we reuse RAMS for repeat installations?
Yes. Approved templates, controls and method sections can provide a starting point. The new RAMS should still be checked against the customer, product, access route, installation position and live site conditions.
Can we reuse RAMS for repeat installations?
The survey records the location, access and existing conditions. The RAMS uses that information to assess risk and explain how the installation will be completed safely.
How is a RAMS different from a site survey?
Yes. Mobile and QR access direct field teams to the current approved document and its supporting plans or instructions.
How is a RAMS different from a site survey?
No. The RAMS can show where lifting sits in the overall method, but a suitable separate lifting plan may still be required for the load, equipment, people and specific operation.
