The assessment should be carried out by a competent person with the appropriate knowledge, skills, and training.
The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations require employers to assess the risks associated with hazardous substances, implement control measures to minimize exposure, and provide information, training, and supervision to employees. The regulations also require employers to monitor exposure levels, conduct medical surveillance, and review and update risk assessments regularly. Failure to comply with COSHH regulations can result in penalties, fines, and legal action.
